Welcome on Polish waters!
Over 20 000 km of canoe routes on rivers, streams, brooks, lakes, artificial lakes, among forests and fields, meadows full
of flowers, swamps, are waiting for you to come. If you feel you are not able to fight with whirls and rocks of mountain
rivers or to force your way through the forest's bushes on narrow streams you can paddle through delightful rivers in the
shadow of huge pines and oaks going down the slopes of ravines to wash their roots and the reflections of their crowns in
the cool and clean water. Those routes are kept in good condition by Polish paddlers, organisers of collective funny
canoeing rallies with an unique atmosphere of fun and staying in the unpolluted and luxuriant nature in the company of
nice friends. And those who are not afraid of big waves and long routes and who have good canoes may paddle through the
routes offered for sailors. All of them are also accessible for paddlers except for the Szczeciński and Wiślany artificial
lakes, these are allowed only for sea canoes. There are approximately 3 000 km of typical sailing routes. For the inland
water sailors there are accessible the see inland water of the Szczeciński and Wiślany bays and many natural and artificial
lakes on rivers with dams. Among the latter the most beautiful are the mountain lakes especially on the Karpaty rivers they
press themselves with their bays between the steep mountain slopes. The biggest group of Polish lakes is placed of course
in the Great Lake District in Mazury. Here among the post-glacial moraines there are the biggest Polish lakes. Apart from
their size they stand out for their vividness and their tremendous variety. Another interesting complex are the lakes,
channels and rivers connected into the System of the Elbląg Channel on the Iława Lake District. There are many artificial
lakes at the Baltic Sea coast and between the lower courses of the Vistula and Odra rivers, as well as in Wielkopolska and
in Lublin District. Everyone can find waters that he of she likes. There are wonderful, huge areas of water excellent for
sailing adventure and fighting with wind and waves. Among inaccessible forests there are calm small bays with clean sand at
the edge and with water tempting with the perspective of a bath. The tourists can gratify their curiosity for Poland when
canoeing down Polish rivers and sightseeing on the way lots of fascinating pieces of architecture, art and nature. The
mother of all Polish rivers is the Vistula that winds over seven from sixteen voivodships from mountains down to the see.
On its high banks there are the biggest and the most beautiful cities in Poland. The second one is the Odra river that
flows over fife western voivodships. And between them, the third longest river in Poland, the Warta, gently winding over
Wielkopolska - a cradle of the Polish statehood. So, my water-friend, you have lots of possibilities to choose. We will
help you to find what you need most. On the next pages you will find further information about the following routes: The
Szczecin Bay, the Rega river, the Drawa river, the Brda river, the Lower Vistula, the Elbląg Channel, the Drwęca river,
